Pikey Peak Trek Difficulty
This trek is an easy to moderate trekking destination. You will be hiking in lower Everest and gaining an elevation of 4,060m. The trail is not challenging but need to hike 5-6 hours a day. Due to its lower elevation, this trekking can be done by people with no experience in trekking.
Permit
You need to buy a Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card, the guiding company will arrange the card. This card plays a role to trek in Nepal and the safety of trekkers, for foreigners, it cost $20 and for Nepali citizens, it cost Rs 2,000 per person. There is no other permit required to do the Pikey Peak trek.
Best time to trek
The best season for Pikey Peak Trek is September to November and March to May when the weather will be clear. During this season the skies will be clear and offer stunning views of Everest and other snow-capped mountains. During monsoon season due to slippery roads which can be dangerous and the high risk of landslides and the trek in the monsoon is not recommended.

Peaky Peak Trek Itinerary
Day 1. Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar (2850m)
Today we will drive to Dhap Bazaar, following the road along the bank of the Sunkoshi River till you reach Ghurmi. We will drive 240km and 8 hours drive to reach Dhap Bazaar. After reaching Dhap you can take a walk to Bazaar.
Day 2. Dhap Bazaar to Japre (2815m)
We will start your trek from Dhap. You will get the best view of the Numbur Himal Range on the way to Sigane. After a 4-5 hours hike covering 14km, you will reach Japre which provides an amazing view of Numbur and Everest. Stay overnight at Japre.
Day 3. Japre to Pikey Base Camp (3640m)
From starting the trek, you will be climbing uphill to Bhulbhule, this place provides a stunning view of the Everest range. After heading further, the trail will split and you will take right to Pikey Base Camp. You will be hiking for up to 3 hours to reach Pikey Base Camp covering 17km.
Day 4. Pikey Base Camp to Pikey Peak (4060m) and hike back to Jase Bhanjyang (3520m).
Early in the morning, you will hike to Pikey Peak. From this viewpoint, you will get stunning views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Annapurna, Manaslu, and Cho Oyu. After spending some time in viewpoint you will head back to Jase Bhanjyang and stay overnight at Jase Bhanjyang.
Day 5. Jase Bhanjyang to Junbesi (2680m)
Today you will descend back following the forest trail. You can visit Buddhist monasteries on the way to Junbesi. Junbesi is a beautiful village with Buddhist Stupas and tea houses. You will be hiking from 5 to 6 to reach Junbesi.
Day 6. Junbesi to Phaplu (2380m)
Today we will cover 13 km which will take a 5 to 6 hours hike to Phaplu, we will dusty trail to Phaplu. Overnight at Phaplu.
Day 7. Drive back to Kathmandu from Phaplu
We will head back to Kathmandu covering 280 Km with an 8-9 hours drive.
